In November 2008 Hawke’s Bay cricketing legend Ian Smith launched the Sports Park Supporters Club. Subsequent to this the region launched a bid the become New Zealand’s cycling centre of excellence incorporating a velodrome. While the velodrome bid was unsuccessful, several thousand people got in behind this and the previous Supporter Club initiative.
These two groups are now combined under the umbrella of “Friends of the Park”. If you wish to become a friend please click the link below. It doesn’t cost anything and we will keep you informed of developments and upcoming events at the Park.

The Hastings Pak n Save Netball Centre opens on Saturday 25 June. More FM will be on site, there'll be lots happening and it's your opportunity to be a foundation supporter.
