A word from Ian...
Right now, the most exciting development ever seen in Hawke's Bay sport is being constructed at the Hastings end of the expressway and I need your support to see it through.
The Regional Sports Park currently boasts a world class athletics track and a 2500 seat grandstand is underway. This will be followed sports fields, netball and tennis courts an indoor cycling velodrome and a host of training facilities for all sporting codes. The whole project covers 30 hectares and has a budget of $56m. Although it's ambitious the annual funding cost isn't great, about 60 cents a week for the average Hastings ratepayer.
I'm a strong advocate of sport in our community which is why I'm president of the Sports Park Supporters' Club. The Park will have programmes for all ages and cultures.
